Extended IFF support for AMOS?

Stemming from the Screen Flickering with IFF Load thread:

BTW: do You have an idea how:
- create a dynamic (extracted from iff file) set of bobs animated by amal
- play iff music files in amos (or how to convert iff music files to abk format)

On the former, I'm afraid AMOS currently has no Anim-Brush support.  Also, there is no support yet for IFF_SMUS formatted music files.

If somebody were willing to convert from those formats to Amos' .abk formats for music and BOBs, I could make a few suggestions:
  • IFF SMUS files use external instruments making them cumbersome to use.  They also only support one instrument per voice making the format inflexible and undesirable.
  • An Anim-Brush importer would be more practical since new versions of DeluxePaint support them.  For each frame there would need to be a frame image and a hot-spot offset.  The former would be loaded into an Amos BOB ABK file.  The latter would be loaded into an AMAL ABK file.
  • The formats for IFF files are available on the AmigaOS Developer CD version 2.1 and earlier (which I have if you need me to look them up for you).
